Top Ten Harry Potter Spells

There couldn't have been a perfect time to make this post. For two reasons. First is that coming very soon is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Second. On November 16th, it would have been fifteen years since the Sorcerer's or Philosopher's Stone was released to theaters. Again, perfect timing. How would I celebrate? By listing the top ten spells in the Harry Potter FILM franchise. Not books. They have to have been used in the movies to make this list. Another restriction is that it has to come from a wand to qualify so things like the polyjuice potion don't count as that is a potion and not technically a spell. Also, I will include the moments in which they were used. So with that SPOILERS are ahead. 10. I Solemnly Swear That I Am Up To No Good/Mischief Managed Film Appearances: Prisoner of Azkaban and Onward This does count as a wand spell as it comes from a persons wand and it technically is a spell so it gets on this list. But it doesn't get higher,

Which Is Better: Harry Potter Vs The Lord of the Rings

Image
Two of arguably the best book-to-film franchises ever clash swords and wands as they fight for the top spot. Though these series had books before they were adapted to the screen, they will not be included into this fight. I'll be sticking to what is strictly seen on screen. This will be a five round battle. Themes and Ideals, Heroes and Villains, Universes, Score, Action, Effects, and Better Films. There will be SPOILERS in this feud so "CONTINUE AT SPOILER RISK." By The Lord of the Rings, I'm not including The Hobbit. If you're wondering how a measly three films can take on a mass of eight films, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. If my end result displeases any of you, feel free to write down your own winner in the comments section below. So without further ado, lets start round one. 1. Themes and Ideals Let's start with Harry Potter. In the wizarding world, there were many problems with their society. They were split into classes like most

Logan (2017 Film) Trailer REACTION

Image
Ah another trailer for a comic book film comes out. I suppose that it came out the same reason that the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 came out, and that it will most likely play in front of Doctor Strange this coming November. I'm not a huge fan of the X-Men films, but I enjoy them just the same. I've seen a couple films, minus X-Men Apocalypse and Deadpool of course, and a few more, but I watch them to see Hugh Jackman's performance. This is Jackman's only reliable franchise. The roles he has, where he doesn't have claws, are met with mixed to negative response and don't do particularly well like his X-Men films do. I know that Jackman can't be Wolverine forever, but I wonder if him leaving is a good idea. I wish that Fox would've built on that ending in Days of Future Past with all the X-Men alive and well, but alas this is the end for them. This is not only Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart's final X-Men film, but everyone else that s

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Sneak Peek REACTION

Image
You know it's fun when Marvel releases a film for two reasons. One, the film itself that is coming out, and two, they always release a new trailer for their next film. Doctor Strange is coming November 4th, so as we get closer and closer to that date, a peak at that next film will get released prior to that, so that they could show said peak, when they do the trailers before the actual movie starts. Marvel's next film after Doctor Strange is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and I couldn't be more excited. Way to go Marvel, by the way, for surprising me. I knew it was gonna debut sometime this month, although I was under the impression that this was gonna be released today, not yesterday, but the earlier, the better. I'm not gonna complain. I actually couldn't wait to watch this, so everything I've been saying since I started, I have seen the trailer already. Also, I have a mixed reaction to the poster. Why is it black and white and why is Nebula right next to t

Mission Impossible: Worst to Best

Image
"Dallin, I've sent you a message from the not to distant past. When your time nears the release of Tom Cruise's new film, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, your mission should you choose to accept it, is to rank all five Mission Impossible films worst to best. Your team that will help you accomplish this mission is Netflix, DVD, Computer, Facebook, and Instagram. This message will self-destruct in three seconds." Thanks past me, I accept. I improvised this opening to not only bring humor right off the bat, but because this has been in development since July. I had to watch movies two and three, because I hadn't seen them before, and I had to re-watch Rouge Nation, because I didn't remember a good portion of the film since I watched it for the first time in December of last year. But it took long, because school started, I started my first year of Seminary, I go to babysit some kids for a long period of time. Things were changing that I couldn't make time to w

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer #2 REACTION

Image
It's here. Disney's probably last trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. I am concerned about this film a bit. Mainly, because it's a prequel, and considering the fact that the prequels that Lucas did from 1999 to 2005 sucked, then I'm worried that this may be the level of quality that the Prequels were. This film has gone through much. It had to take some reshoots. They cut a large part of the film to do that so I'm wondering how this'll turn out. This will be the first Star Wars film to not be composed by John Williams, instead Michael Giacchino is composing the score. The heads at Disney and Lucasfilm have been pitching this as a Star Wars WAR movie, and so far I haven't seen anything that has given me that feeling. Any action we've seen, has been seen in the other seven films, so I'm hoping they give us that feeling. Another thing I want to see and hear is DARTH VADER. As you can see he's in the new poster that came out yesterday, so I&#

Spy Kids: Unbearable to Bearable

Image
Why am I doing this? I'm not sure if I like any of these movies. They're all geared for kids. Any who, let's move on. You know those films you watch as a kid and you outright love it, but then you watch it again as an older kid and ask yourself "What did I just watch?" Spy Kids was that for me. I can respect the opinion of those that still enjoy it, but for me I just say they're unbearable. Now as for why I'm doing this. Simple. I was given the idea to do so by someone I know, and I happily, yet grudgingly agreed. So here we are. Listen, there's no need to worry about SPOILERS, because I can't recommend any of the four films to you so there will be no SPOILER warning so let's get to it. Also, instead of Worst to Best, it's Unbearable to Bearable, because there is no "Best" of the franchise. I can't call the number one spot the best. 4. Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams They always say that the sequel to a succe

Power Rangers (2017 Movie) Teaser Trailer REACTION

Image
Full confession! I have no idea what the Power Rangers are. Well, I know who they are and what they do and how they get their powers, but beyond that knowledge, this is all foreign territory to me. Which is perfect, because Lionsgate needs fans of the franchise and non-fans to see this film. They're hoping and praying, well they're probably not praying, but they're are desperate with this film. They had Twilight, but that's gone, and Hunger Games is over, and it didn't bow out on the strongest note. Divergent has been downgraded to tv. They're rumors that they will not be making a final film. Not enough people went to see Now You See Me 2, and it flopped critically and financially. So Lionsgate is hoping this is their next big franchise for them. What makes this more risky is that they cast unknowns for the roles of the rangers. The only names I know are Bryan Cranston as the Ranger's mentor named Zordon, and Elizabeth Banks as the film's villain, whose

Pirates Of The Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales Trailer REACTION

Image
Well. I hope this works. They're making a new Pirates movie. It's called Dead Men Tell No Tales. Ooh exciting. I loved the first one along to some extent second and third. However the fourth, I thought was okay, but I had problems with it though. Still I'm excited about this fifth adventure and I wonder how this film will turn out. Orlando Bloom will return as Will Turner, which is fine, I'd rather him return then Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swan or Turner now, because they were married last time we saw them. Javier Bardem, who played the villain in Skyfall, plays our villain for the film and I'm excited to see if he's good. So I'm gonna watch the trailer here and you do the same and then read my after trailer review. Well that was short. We saw very little, but there were some things I did like. We saw the villain the villain. He reminds me of Davy Jones a bit. Also side note. He reminds me of his villain character in Skyfall, when he took off his fak

What Needs To Happen: Avengers: Infinity War

Image
With Captain America: Civil War now out and released and the official news that Infinity War will be just one film, now would be a good time to list the top five things I'd like to see in Avengers: Infinity War. It has been the film that these films have led up to since 2008s first Iron Man. The picture is in good hands with directing duo Anthony and Joe Russo helming the project after Winter Soldier and Civil War. Although we still have five films to go before Infinity War will be released, I think it's safe to say that we know what we would like to see in the upcoming film. There may or may not be SPOILERS from Civil War in this so "YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!" 1. More Than A Two And A Half Hour Runtime With the recent news that Infinity War will be one film and the planned second part will be a sequel to that, I would like to have this film to break the two and a half hour barrier that all previous Marvel films have been behind. If you take a look at all the curre
